You are the discordant composition Written in your 20 years A non-commitant melody Dedicated to avoiding all of Your hopes and fears And all these people that you think will Fix the song heard from your head They never met you They never kissed you They never felt warm in your bed I'm on hold The telephone's disconnect tone It is ringing, it is singing in my ear Continental wires They conspire against me To keep me plugged into your head Will they let me know you're cared for? Will they let me know you're dead? She says "Let's drive," "If I can make it out of this one alive," "I'll never ask you another favor" She pleads through dilated eyes And like the drive home From a rock show As the silence draws near Will her absence leave me deafened Replaced with a shrill high note of fear? I'm on hold The telephone's disconnect tone It is ringing, it is singing in my ear Continental wires They conspire against me To keep me plugged into your head Will they let me know you're careful? Will they let me know you're dead? I'm on hold The telephone's disconnect tone It is ringing, it is singing in my ear Continental wires They conspire against me To keep me plugged into your head Will they let me know you're cared for? Will they let me know you're heading home?

Never gonna be too high to notice You're not around Never gonna be sober enough to Let my feet touch the ground Always gonna be my Always gonna be my Favorite lover of energy Always gonna be my Always gonna be my Favorite flavor of apathy Never gonna be the one that you want Eternally by your side Never gonna be strong enough to Let the whole thing slide Always gonna be my Always gonna be my Favorite topic of sympathy Always gonna be my Always gonna be my Favorite blanket of misery If I was a superman You'd be my kryptonite Unable to solve this Despite my super-might And as the orange sun of hope Drifts farther away Beside my biggest enemy Is where I plan to stay 'Cus failure's not an option I'd prefer, I'd prefer To keep holding on There's a whole world out there But I'd prefer, I'd prefer To stay where I belong

about

This is the Taubmen (demo), our first release! This demo includes five original songs that are either complete or on their way to being the fleshed out visions that we strive for.
There will be a full album in the works shortly with completed and properly recorded versions of the songs and a handful of new tracks.

Thanks for listening!

We’d also like to thank Sydney Barton, Joshua Olinger, Bazaar Consignments,Kelley’s Music, Fret Mill Music Co., Roanoke Technologies Group, all of our friends from the open mics downtown.

released July 17, 2013

This demo was recorded in George's garage with a borrowed PA system, two Rock Band mics, and a Samson Meteor Mic except for track four (which was recorded on a RCA cassette player with a bit of a battery issue).
Recorded straight into FL Studio and further work was completed on Audacity.
All songs written and performed by George-Michael Kalafut and Sebastian Burgess except for “Cut Your Hair”, written and recorded by Pavement, used with permission and admiration.
